Analytical Instrument Documents

CT only undergoes second-order quadrupolar perturbation and the signal is distributed over a narrower range than ST. ST signals are broad, have lower sensitivity, and often exhibit more complex patterns. Therefore, in the case of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei, CT signals are mostly observed and analyzed.

In solid-state NMR, interactions such as dipolar couplings and chemical shift anisotropy often result in extremely broad and low-sensitivity spectra in the stationary state. To address this issue, the sample is tilted at an angle of 54.74 degrees relative to the magnetic field and spun rapidly, creating a state similar to that of a solution. This technique, called MAS (Magic Angle Spinning), improves both resolution and sensitivity.

In this MSTips, we report the analysis results of aroma components in peach juice using a gas chromatography quadrupole mass spectrometer (GC-QMS) and msFineAnalysis iQ. Additionally, we present the results of target analysis of γ-lactones, aroma components characteristic of peaches, using the new functionality target analysis function.

This Polymer note introduces a broad range of instruments used for polymer analysis and their applications.

Contamination and Off-Flavor; Evaluation and Analysis

Thermal desorption (TD) and pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (py-GC-MS) identified the source of an unexpected contaminant introduced during sample preparation.

Quick and accurate quantitative analysis is possible without using a reference material that is the same as the target analyte.

This Solid-state battery Note has been created to provide solutions and reference information for research and development of solid-state batteries evolving from the lithium ion batteries (LIBs).

Field Desorption (FD) is demonstrated as a useful way to obtain mass spectra for many organometallic complexes.

JEOL developed msFineAnalysis as qualitative analysis software for our gas chromatograph time of flight mass spectrometer (GC-TOFMS). We implemented deconvolution detection, variance component analysis, and other features in the software through updates. We have recently developed a new version of the series called msFineAnalysis AI. msFineAnalysis AI is equipped with a structural analysis method using artificial intelligence (AI), called "AI structural analysis." AI structural analysis enables the identification of molecular formulas as well as structural formulas of compounds that are not registered in the NIST 20 library (unknown compounds).
